One of my most anticipated games of the week was released in Rugby League 26 and marked the first league game to hit the PS5/Xbox Series X Gen of Consoles.
The server is temporarily opened (currently closed) and can retrieve several hours of footage and upload it to YouTube (see below). It is very important to note that this is not the final version of the game.
As Big Ant CEO points out (and I believe in him based on covering many of these launches), the team is working on the game until the very end, and this is a 2-3 month build based on when you obviously need to press the disc.
It’s a shame the server wasn’t blocking play as we didn’t think the disk was leaking into the wild (we should know better!).
No matter what falls in the next few days, come at 9am on July 17th…

The game appears to be very similar to Rugby League Live 4. I don’t think this is necessarily a bad thing because I loved the game. Obviously, the game has all the teams scanned and all the rules changes, pro teams and many other inclusions.
It would be interesting to see how it will happen at Thursday’s launch. I’m happy that there’s a new rugby league match. Hopefully it turns out to be decent.
Rugby League 26 will be released on July 17th for PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series X | S (pre-orders available for pre-orders on JB Hi-Fi for $89).
