VicScreen’s head of content and talent Ross Hutchens is leaving state government and returning to production.
The senior executive has been with VicScreen since 2013, initially as head of screen industry programs.
Previously with partner production company Media World Pictures, Hutchens has produced across television drama, children’s animation, documentaries and feature films including Circuit, Dogstar and Anthem.
Big Screen said in a statement that Hutchens had been the “driving force” behind the station’s success.
“Mr Ross has been instrumental in supporting the growth and maturation of Victoria’s film industry, most recently as Head of Content and Talent. His leadership in designing and delivering innovative programs has enabled Victorian filmmakers and companies to deliver world-class, critically acclaimed projects,” the magazine said.
“After many years of championing the sector from within VicScreen, Ross returns to the world of production, where his creativity and strategic acumen will no doubt continue to thrive. We are extremely grateful for his influence and can’t wait to see what he creates next.”
