At Republic of Gamers’ CES presentation earlier this week, Republic of Gamers announced a partnership with Xreal on high-end AR gaming glasses.
ROG Xreal R1 glasses can be used for video games, movies, and productivity, with a seamless setup and up to a 171-inch virtual screen comprised of a microOLED display. With an impressive refresh rate of 240Hz, the use case for competitive video gaming is obvious.
ROG’s parent company Asus and Xreal shared some of the product’s key technical features.

If you want to use this product for gaming, connect the R1 glasses directly to ROG Ally with a single USB-C cable and no setup process is required. Also available on phones, desktop workstations, and game consoles. The ROG Control Dock included with the glasses allows you to switch between consoles with just a few clicks.
Players can switch which devices are handled on the big screen via the dock. This dock also features two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 port, giving you plenty of connectivity options.
There is no official announcement regarding the price yet. However, it’s safe to say that it beats the other models when it comes to localized pricing.
