We knew the price of technology would start to skyrocket, and the first casualty was the ROG Xbox Ally X, which just received a $200 price increase in Australia.
The standard ROG Xbox Ally still costs $999, while the ROG Xbox Ally X has increased in price from AU$1,599 to AU$1,799. This suggests that faster, higher-spec RAM is likely the reason for the price increase. This makes sense given that memory prices are skyrocketing due to AI data centers.
In addition to the $200 price increase, ROG Xbox Ally X is now available at more retailers. Previously exclusive to JB Hi-Fi and ASUS stores, it is now available at EB Games, Mwave, Amazon, and more.
This won’t be the last technology affected by the memory and storage shortages that are about to plague the tech industry, so if you’ve got one you’ve been eyeing, now might be a good time to consider buying one.
