Rockstar today announced that it has acquired Sydney Studios Video Game Deluxe and renamed it Rockstar Australia. This shows Rockstar has returned to Australia after working closely with Team Bondi (who created La Nore).
Video Game Deluxe has worked on re-releasing La Noire, La Noire The VR Case Files, and has recently helped fix IOS/Android, Netflix and Modern Consoles for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
The video game Deluxe is founded by Brendan McNamara of Team Bondi, who created La Noire, so there is a huge history between Rockstar and this new development team.
“After working closely over the years, we look forward to joining the team as Rockstar Australia, deluxe video games,” said Rockstar Game Head, Jennifer Corbe’s Publications Director.
“It was an honor to work closely with the Rockstar Games of the last decade,” said Brendan McNamara, founder of Deluxe video game. “We are excited to join the Rockstar Games and continue our efforts to make the best game possible.”
It’s unclear whether Rockstar Australia will remain a support studio or if it will work with new original titles, but there’s more hope than ever for the new LA Noire game.
