With PS5 Pro release date just over a week away, Insomniac has detailed how Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will utilize the hardware.
Pro’s performance mode targets 60 FPS while maintaining the same graphical quality as the original console’s Fidelity mode, thanks to PSSR technology. This is what Insomniac recommends for most players.
Pro has a brand new Fidelity mode that targets 30 FPS, but also introduces a bunch of new ray tracing features that increase pedestrian and traffic density in some areas and also increase fine hair detail. Higher frame rates are also available for displays with 120hz/VRR compatible displays.
On PS5 Pro, players also have access to RT Key Light Shadows, which can be toggled off (Performance) or On (Fidelity), Ray Tracing Reflections, which can be toggled in between, and Ray Tracing toggles included in the interior. Masu. (Performance) and High (Fidelity) and Ambience Occlusion that can be toggled off (Performance) and High (Fidelity).
Interestingly, Ratchet & ClankL Rift Apart fixes a bug introduced in a previous patch that caused fur to lose wetness in some cutscenes.
