It’s very well documented that Xbox has been away from creating physical versions of games over the last few years, but as the Xbox game showcase took place yesterday and the next batch of games is being made online for pre-orders, you can see that the remaining games lineup for the year are getting physical copies on the PS5.
This applies to Gears of War: Reloaded, The Outer Worlds 2, and Ninja Gaiden 4.
The Outer Worlds 2: Premium Edition and Ninja Gaiden 4: Deluxe Edition both get an in-store Xbox release, but it becomes the code in the box (the PS5 counterpart is on the disc).
This means you can play versions of the game anywhere, given the Xbox’s Play Anywarty strategy, either on the game pass or digital, but considering it’s one of Xbox’s most iconic brands, it’s still a bit offensive to see something like Gears of War as the physical thing on the PS5.
