Screen Australia has launched applications to support Australian documentary producers and directors to participate in major international documentary events.
Up to 10 Australian documentary producers or directors will be given the opportunity to present their projects to international distributors, commissioners, financial and production partners at one of four events:
World Science and Fact Producers Conference (December 9-12, 2024, Marrakech, Morocco) Real Screen Summit (February 3-7, 2025, Miami, USA) CPH: Dox (March 19-30, 2025, (Copenhagen, Denmark) Sheffield DocFest (18- June 23, 2025, Sheffield, UK).
Selected delegates will each receive up to $6,000 in funding for travel, living expenses, market registration, and lodging.
This opportunity also provides applicants with the opportunity to hear first-hand about the latest financial and audience trends to drive development, production, financing and marketing goals, as well as strengthen and build new relationships.
Eligible applicants are lead producers or directors of one-off series and/or features with evidence of broadcast (SVOD, BVOD, or FTA) and/or proven theatrical release within the past five years (starting in 2019) Should have documentary credit as. (or reportable) audience outcomes.
We encourage applications from underrepresented communities. Early to mid-career producers with strong domestic performance but no international acclaim will also be considered if they have development plans with international ambitions.
Applications close on Thursday 24 October 2024 at 5pm AEDT.
