Screen Australia has launched applications to support six Australian filmmakers to travel to Goa for the Australia/India Co-Production Day. The co-production day, held in partnership with Invest India, will be held on November 22, 2024, in conjunction with the National Film Development Cooperation (NFDC) Film Bazaar, which will be held from November 20 to 24, 2024. Six applicants will each receive up to $6,000 in support for travel to Goa and accommodation in Goa.
The initiative provides Australian producers with formal co-production experience (or have completed content on a comparable budget scale) the opportunity to meet their Indian counterparts, facilitating early-stage creative connections. , fostering meaningful partnerships. An official co-production relationship conducted under the Australia-India Treaty.
To qualify for this program, applicants will:
You must be an Australian citizen or resident and meet the requirements of Screen Australia’s Terms of Business. Must have recent credits as lead producer on a reasonably budgeted scripted series and/or feature film with evidence of significant opinion, particularly internationally and, for this opportunity, in India. For example, projects that have been distributed and released theatrically. or have been nominated for and/or won at the Toronto, Cannes, Venice, Sundance, Berlin, SXSW, Annecy festivals or at important international awards such as the Academy Awards, BAFTAs, and Emmy Awards. or be shown on broadcast television or streamed on a subscription-based platform and be among the top 10 most-watched programs on that platform at the time of transmission. or evidence that it was streamed online on a reportable platform with more than 1 million viewers/plays, or other evidence that it was trending on YouTube at the time of release.
Preference will be given to those with formal international co-production experience and at least one project with potential for full-scale co-production with India.
