The first official trailer for the horror-comedy sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come has been released, taking Samara Weaving’s Grace straight from the flames of its predecessor and into an even more sordid tale of rich people nonsense. The new chapter wastes no time picking up where she left off, hurt, furious, and somehow still alive, but the game is even bigger, weirder, and loaded with fresh faces ready to kill you as soon as you see the Bride. Watch the trailer above and read more below.
A new level of nightmare
In the sequel, Grace is dropped into a hospital bed, naturally handcuffed, and then informed that the survival of the Le Domas clan was not the victory she thought. As it turned out, this catastrophe only opened the door to the next stage. The four powerful High Council families that run the world in the shadows have decided that she is their problem.
“You’ve caused such a stir, Madame Le Domas. You married into that family, and now they’re gone,” a lawyer played by Elijah Wood tells Grace. “What you didn’t know is that this is way beyond their scope. By surviving the game of hide and seek, you’ve triggered a new game. This time it’s double or nothing against the High Council family. This part should be familiar. They’ll try to kill you.”
That alone is enough to ruin anyone’s morning, but Grace soon realizes she’s not playing solo. After she retorts to the new killing committee that she’s “not playing,” the committee reveals exactly why she has no choice.
Grace’s estranged sister Faith, played by Kathryn Newton, appears and inevitably gets dragged into the chaos. Their reunion had its pitfalls. They must survive long enough for Grace to claim what is called the High Seat, the throne that will keep this entire brutal tradition spinning.
killer cast and filmmakers
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sean Hatosy, Nestor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Chen, and David Cronenberg (!) play a fresh batch of wealthy psychos.
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillette, collectively known as “Radio Silence,” return behind the camera, and screenwriters Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy once again shape Grace’s exceptionally cursed journey.
release date
