Netflix ANZ content director Que Minh Luu has stepped down from her role in The Streamer.
Luu has worked for Netflix for five years and pilots Australian originals such as Heartbreak High, Boy Wallows Universe, Apple Cider Vinegar, Wellmania, Byron Baes and Territory. Other upcoming committees include donkey survivors and son.
She was Netflix’s first content-centric employment in this territory, and was hired a year after the service first established a local office.
While resigning from Director of Content Roles, Luu will continue to serve as a creative consultant for his period as a creative consultant exclusively for Netflix.
If Lou’s role is replaced, it has not yet been advertised. The local content team continues to expand, with streamers currently promoting their new content manager position.
“We are extremely proud to have founded teams, won awards, commissioned and tested out our beloved shows over the past five years,” Lou said in a statement.
“It was a privilege to help shape the Australian story on Netflix.”
Netflix APAC (Ex-India) VP Content Minyoung Kim said Luu is a talented creative and “very grateful” for the work he has launched the ANZ content team.
“We wish all the successes in the future and are delighted to continue working with her as a creative consultant, continuing our exciting local storytelling journey,” she said.
Prior to joining Netflix, Luu was an executive producer at ABC, and for three and a half years he worked in development at Matchbox Pictures. During her early career, she worked as an editor and throughout radio and podcasting.
