It feels like we’ve been waiting forever, but as of today, the PS5 Welcome Hub has arrived on consoles in Australia.
This adds a whole new tab to your PS5 home screen, giving you easy access to Trophies, Battery Levels, Storage Overview, News, PlayStation Plus Additions, Media, Online Friends, and Friend Activity all in one place. Ta.
Wallpapers are also returning to the console, with a plethora of PlayStation-themed wallpapers and animated Astro Bot wallpapers available. I hope these are added often, as they are one of the most overlooked features of the PS3/PS4 era.
I knew this was coming, but after playing around with it a bit I was very surprised at how robust it is, as you can completely customize how big or small everything is, what information is displayed, and even what appears from each one. I did. Widget. It’s a huge improvement over what was previously displayed on the home screen.
I had to restart the console to see it. So if it doesn’t appear after coming back from rest mode (if you’re using the latest version), we recommend resetting it.
