It was confirmed this morning that Pro Jank Footy, which I’ve been obsessed with since playing it at PAX, will be released on all platforms in 2026.
While we didn’t have an official release date for the upcoming chaotic football game, a new gameplay trailer has been released featuring the game’s ridiculous amount of modifier cards that you can play with, including giant players, literal brick walls to protect your goals, and portals that move across the field.
Pro Jank Footy is scheduled to be released for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The game takes inspiration from the likes of NBA Jam and depicts Australia’s beloved national sport through a highly energetic arcade lens. The game is naturally very entertaining due to its goofy action, but it also features commentary by Aunty Donna Broden Kelly, who also serves as a playable character in the game.
For those looking to get their hands on the game, a PC demo will be available for a limited time during Steam Next Fest, which runs from February 23rd to March 2nd.
