Prime Video has signed a multi-year agreement with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Roadshow Films, offering exclusive Pay-1 streaming rights to Australian Theatre Slate.
The deal, which began in August, will make Prime Video to the first streaming home for Sony and Roadshow titles, following the windows of movies and home entertainment. The deal with Sony is new, and Roadshow transactions will renew the partnership that began last July.
Prime Video customers will have access to Sony movies, including Sony movies 28 years later, Bold Beautiful Journey, Karate Kid: Legend, Stealing, What Did Last Summer, and Local Horror Gets Her Back. From Roadshow, the product includes grey, conclave, fall, monkeys, thieves’ burrows, and additions of local film.
“By securing exclusive streaming rights to films from Sony Pictures and Roadshow, we ensure that Prime members get first access to stream these films after the plays run and digital rental window.”
“This gives customers more choice, more convenience and incredible value. Combined with Amazon MGM Studios premium content, including MGM’s theatre slate, these deals will ensure Australian film enthusiasts stream something exciting all the time.”
“We’re committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Apac Adam Herr, Senior Vice President of Sony Pictures Television.
Roadshow Films Director acquisition, TV and Home Entertainment said WillMagion is excited to see the company expand its partnership with Prime Video.
“The agreement pins Prime Video as the extraordinary film home we defended on the big screen, from strong Australian stories to internationally beloved massive hits,” he said.
“This is a natural evolution of our strong relationship with Prime Video and a shared commitment to providing an unforgettable cinema experience for audiences around the country.”
