In a huge twist, Lego has confirmed that the first Lego Mario Kart set and the new Animal Crossing and Sonic set will be released on January 21, 2025.
There are six LEGO Mario Kart sets to be released on January 1, with prices ranging from AU$19.99 to AU$129.99, with some containing just the kart and others containing multiple characters. These can be combined with the LEGO Mario, Luigi and Peach figures released in the original LEGO Super Mario set.
The largest set is the $129.99 LEGO Mario Kart Baby Peach & Grand Prix set. It consists of 823 pieces and includes the Wild Wiggler, Landship, Standard Motorcycle Vehicle, Baby Peach, Ratik, Remy and Toad figures. It also includes the entire truck, including the cart. Fire the cannonballs, starting gate, barrier and winner’s podium. If you want an authentic Mario Kart experience, this looks like the one to get.
Other sets include the Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo Set, which includes Donkey Kong and a DK Jumbo Cart, for $59.99, the Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi Set, which includes two cars and a shell-firing battle, for $49.99, and the cart, which includes a cart for $49.99. Includes Dollar Toad Garage Set. Includes a car lift, two Toad figures, a standard cart set ($29.99) including Mario’s iconic cart, and Yoshi’s bike. $19.99 set including Blue Yoshi and bicycle.

January 1st will also see the release of a slew of new LEGO Sonic and LEGO Animal Crossing sets, including:
