Xbox Game Pass has added South Park: The Fractured but Whole to its content library. This is the fourth new title to arrive on the service in October 2024, and the 118th addition to Xbox Game Pass since the beginning of the year.
Created by XDefiant developer Ubisoft San Francisco, South Park: The Fractured but Whole first hit the market in October 2017. The turn-based RPG debuted to widespread critical acclaim, as reflected by its “Strong” rating derived from its aggregate score on OpenCritic. 82 points, 81% of reviewers recommend it. It also boasts over 25,000 “very positive” user reviews on Steam and has been nominated for numerous awards. As such, The Fractured but Whole is widely regarded as one of the best South Park games ever made.

On the eve of its seventh anniversary, the 2017 RPG has arrived on Xbox Game Pass and was added on October 16th. This is the first South Park game to appear on Microsoft’s subscription service. Like its predecessor, South Park: The Stick of Truth, The Fractured but Whole has been widely praised for its faithful recreation of the South Park universe, with irreverent humor. In terms of gameplay, the 2017 RPG retains some of its predecessor’s basic combat mechanics similar to those in the Paper Mario series, but is enhanced with the addition of a grid-based combat movement system . So there are a lot more variables to keep track of during combat here, but once you master these mechanics you’ll be able to dispatch enemies even more easily than in the previous game. South Park: TFBW launches Xbox Game Pass Wave 2 lineup for October 2024
2017 South Park RPG begins second wave of Xbox Game Pass releases in October 2024. The next two titles in this lineup are puzzle game Donut County and mech action game MechWarrior 5: Clans, both of which will be added to Microsoft’s subscription library tomorrow, October 17th. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will follow in October. The 25th is the same day that CoD: Warzone and the cloud version of Modern Warfare 3 arrive on Xbox Game Pass.
PC ports of Ashen and Dead Island 2 are also expected to arrive on the service by the end of this month. At the same time, Xbox Game Pass will lose five titles on October 31st, including the critically acclaimed mountain bike game Lonely Mountains: Downhill.
