Writer, director and co-producer Amy-Lee Shushen explains how the coronavirus lockdown influenced her new online series.
During Sydney’s coronavirus lockdown, filmmaker Amy-Lee Shushen, like most people in 2021, was spending more time online. This led her to join a community group on Facebook.
“I joined because I found it interesting and noticed that there was a lot of comedy in people’s posts,” Shushen reveals. “I actually started taking screenshots of people’s community group posts and then worked some of the screenshots directly into the episodes.”
In this behind-the-scenes video, Shushen talks about the challenges he had with writing too many characters, how his lead actor had to leave the production the night before shooting started, and how he went missing. He talks about how a guinea pig became his inspiration. About episode 2.
