It directs a new trailer released for battle after fight, an explosive new film from Paul Thomas Anderson (where there is Blood, Boogie Nights), and his first Leonardo DiCaprio.
Extremists return when history repeats
A flammable fusion of action, politics and PTA-style confusion shown in the trailer. DiCaprio stars as Bob Ferguson, a former innovative revolutionary living in quarantine under the name “Ghetto Putt.” However, when a former enemy (played by Sean Penn) reappears, Bob’s past crashes. It drags him and the new generation into another battle.
That includes his teenage daughter (Chase Infinity). Participants in the fight include Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Wood Harris as Bob’s old allies, with Penn playing hated antagonist Colonel Rockjoe. It takes a bit of firefights, passionate speeches and inspiration from del Toro. He says the mid-car chase as DiCaprio jumps out of his moving car.
Pynchon Energy, PTA regulars, and one hell on the soundtrack
Luggagely inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s Vinethland (Anderson previously adapted Pynchon’s inherent deterioration), the film was filmed in 35mm using a Vista Vision camera, reuniting Anderson with his major collaborators.
Fights will begin one after another between Australian Cinemas on September 25th and American Cinemas on September 26th.
