Fraser’s pedigree runs deeper than fans have ever known. Outlander: Blood of My Blood is a highly anticipated prequel series to Outlander, dropping the official trailer. That’s not just where the story began, but when. Check out the big trailer above for more details.

Set in two different eras, the series follows the swept romance of Claire’s parents Julia Moriston and Henry Beaushan, and Jamie’s parents Ellen Mackenzie and Brian Fraser. From the trench of World War I to the Windsweep Highlands of Scotland in the 18th century, this prequel offers a fresh publicity about the saga by acknowledging time travel and the intertwined emotions that accompany it.

“I don’t know how I got here,” says Julia (Hermione Caufield). “Maybe I’ve lost my heart. There was a deafening noise. Then you’re gone. The trailer doesn’t have time to be revealed: Claire’s parents were not killed in a car accident. They disappeared from the standing stones of Clay na Dan.

Intersected destiny and interwoven history

Fans will find familiar names in unfamiliar ways. Despite clan politics, there is Ellen Mackenzie (Harriet Slater) pulled towards Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy). Now, when asked if he would find her again, Henry (Jeremy Irvine) takes the time to search for Julia, swearing, “I will.”

It’s not just about how Jamie and Claire turned out. That’s a reflection of them. The trailer declares “two love stories related to time.” It also confirms that Julia and Eren’s paths cross and change things that longtime fans thought they knew.

As executive producer Maril Davis told Entertainment Weekly, “We show not only one great romance, but two great romances and how those parallel love stories intertwined to reach Jamie and Claire.”

New faces, familiar names, and early confidence

The first part introduces a fresh cast with Rory Alexander as young Multag Fitzgibbons Fraser, Sams MacLean Ross and Sam Letford as Colm and Dougal Mackenzie, and Tony Curran, Simon Foozer and Lovat Lod. Conor McNeill as a legitimate heart also has Ned Gowan and Sadob Marin as young Jocastas.

Matthew B. Roberts will return as showrunner and executive producer along with franchise veterans Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis. This series is produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Television.

And Starts hasn’t hedged bets. Blood of My Blood has already been renewed in the second season before its premiere. As Roberts stated in a statement when the early update was announced, “The passion and talent our cast and crew poured into Outlander: My bloody blood is extraordinary and I’m excited to continue these epic love stories in Season 2.”

When and where to see Outlander: My Blood

Outlander: Blood of My Blood premiered on August 8th at Starz, USA and on August 9th at Stan, Australia, with new episodes released weekly.
