Netflix has released the official trailer for One Piece Season 2, with the official title being One Piece: To the Great Passage. The Straw Hat Pirates are in a predicament. Watch the trailer above and read what we know so far.
Grand Line raises the stakes
In Season 2, Luffy and his crew finally enter the Grand Line in pursuit of the legendary One Piece treasure. “We’ve brought together a great group of friends and reached a great path, and now we’re one step closer to our dreams,” Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) says in the trailer, doing much of the heavy lifting with his trademark optimism.
Showrunner Joe Tratz told Tudum that the barrel pledge from season one is still the emotional driver here. “At the end of the first season, our characters made this vow around the barrel to make their dreams come true,” he said. “We’ll see how those dreams are put to the test. Every stop on the Grand Line will test one Straw Hat Pirate in a unique way. And they’ll learn that if they’re going to make their dreams come true, they have to have each other’s backs.”
The new journey takes the Straw Hats to Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island, rapidly increasing the size (and danger) of the world.
Baroque works are in the spotlight
The trailer focuses on Baroque Works, with new waves of enemies attacking you. Usopp clearly states, “The guys at Baroque Works are different. They’re extremely strong.”
Among the agents introduced are Miss All Sunday (Lela Abova), Miss Wednesday (Charisra Chandran), Mr. 3 (David Dastmalchian), Mr. 5 (Kamuras Johnson), Miss Valentine (Jazara Jaslin), Mr. 9 (Daniel Lasker), and Miss Golden Week (Sofia Ann Caruso).
A notable stop is Mr. 0, also known as Crocodile. Joe Manganiello’s casting was announced in September 2024, but he’s not seen in the trailer, even though Baroque Works is a big threat for the season.
Chopper arrives and Oda promises escalation.
This season also features Tony Tony Chopper, voiced by Michaela Huber. Coach Huber previously said of the fan-favorite: “He tries his best to hide his emotions and put on a tough exterior, but underneath he’s such a kind person that you can’t help but show his love for him.”
Meanwhile, series author Eiichiro Oda is promising a major shift in gear. “All conventions established in season one will be shattered,” he wrote. “This season has even more to offer, including a parade of Devil Fruit abilities, never-before-seen titans, adorable creatures, powerful action, and stunning VFX! Be drawn into the immersive experience that only live-action can offer.”
In other words, the training wheels are off. The Straw Hat Pirates have reached the Grand Line. Now they have to survive it.
