The 2024 Summer Olympics are being held in Paris, France.
Australian athletes will compete in basketball, diving, swimming, hockey, road cycling and canoe slalom on the first day of the competition.
Due to time differences, many of these events start on Saturday nights in Australia.
The opening ceremony will be held early Saturday morning.

When is the opening ceremony?

It is scheduled to start in Paris at 7:30pm on Friday 26th July, but in Australia it will actually start the next day, Saturday 27th July.

The Olympics will be broadcast free-to-air on Channel 9 and 9Gem.
