The first full-length official trailer landed for a way to train the Dragon, a live-action adaptation of Universal of the 2010 Dreamworks animation hit. The film is written and directed by Dean Debrowi. Look up.

The story continues with Hiccup (Mason Thames, Black Phone), a nasty but inventive young Viking wholly does not fit in at all among his Dragonsley relatives. His world changes when he encounters a rare night’s rage, and instead of killing it, he chalks everything his people believe about the dragon. His decision makes him directly confront his father, Stoick The Vast (Gerard Butler, who changed his voice role from animated films), and forces him to build his own path. With Astrid (Nico Parker, our last) and Gobber (Nic Frost, Sean of the Dead), the village’s quirky blacksmith, Hiccup sets out on a journey that can reconstruct Burke’s future.

Supported cast include Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), Gabriel Howell (Body), Bronwin James (Wicked), Harry Trevaldwin (Suffocation), Ruth Cod (Midnight Club), Peter Serafinowitz (Galaxy Guardian) , Murray McCartor (Game of Thrones).

The Dragon franchise’s heartfelt storytelling, powerful character work and how to train a mix of stunning animations have attracted extensive followers over the years. The film collectively won four Academy Award nominations and a global total of over USD 1.6 billion. Therefore, the pressure to achieve this adaptation is undoubtedly continuing.

This film is part of the IMAX program that will help provide filmmakers’ IMAX Technology to provide epic visuals. And while the trailer looks gorgeous on that front, it remains to be seen whether the film can capture the emotional depth and heart that resonated the original so much. Given how well CG animation has been held over the years, some may wonder whether live-action narrative is necessary. It looks pretty much the same as his animated counterpart. If your arms are crossed, but they’re all the same…). It remains to be seen whether this adaptation can stand alongside its predecessor or whether it feels like a beat beat retread. Hopefully it does the original justice.

How to Train Your Dragon is scheduled to open in Australian cinemas on June 12th and in the US on June 13th.
