Kristen Bell’s Joan and Adam Brody’s Noah return for more love, faith, and friction – Netflix has officially renewed Nobody Wants This for a third season, set to arrive in 2026.
The renewal comes on the heels of the romantic comedy’s strong second season, which topped Netflix’s English TV charts for two weeks and garnered 18 million views in its first 11 days.
Kristen Bell’s surprise announcement video
Once the press release was published, Bell literally took matters into his own hands. She shared a video on social media revealing the news to her co-stars in a series of surprise phone calls, which quickly went viral among fans. Adam Brody, Timothy Simmons, Jackie Tohn, and Justin Lupe each heard the news firsthand. Brody’s casual thumbs-up, Simmons’ enthusiastic “Let’s do it!” and Tone’s stunned silence followed by a jubilant “Let’s go!” Everything captured the show’s real-life chemistry.
The clip also featured creator Erin Foster, who jokingly reminded Bell that she was the one breaking the news, but then admitted she already knew. This candid video highlighted what fans love about Nobody Wants This: the ensembles are just as authentic off-camera as they are on-camera.
Creator’s voice
“I couldn’t be more excited for the third season of this show,” Foster told Netflix’s Tudom. “It’s an honor to write about my favorite couples on this scale. As long as they don’t take up too much time watching reality TV at night, I’ll keep writing for as long as they want!”
Showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan added, “We are so grateful to Netflix and 20th for bringing us another season of Nobody Wants This. This is criminally fun to work on. Working with the uniquely talented Erin Foster, this incredible cast of talented and hilarious professionals, great writers, and an amazing crew has been a truly amazing experience.”
What you can expect from season 3
The series follows an agnostic podcaster (Bell) and a rabbi (Brody) as they navigate an unconventional love story. Season 2 ended with Joan deciding to convert to Judaism after an emotional pep talk from Esther – just as Noah reaffirmed that he wants to be with her no matter what she chooses. “She craves something that gives her structure, purpose, boundaries, values and traditions,” Foster explained. “Judaism can give her all that.”
Season 3 will likely explore new directions for the ensemble, including Joan’s conversion journey, Noah’s growing doubts about Temple work, Esther’s self-discovery, the aftermath of her breakup with Morgan, and what happens next for Sasha.
Who will be back behind the scenes?
Conner and Kaplan will remain as showrunners, and executive producers include Foster, Steven Levitan, Bell, Sarah Foster, Daniel Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Kaplan, Conner, Nora Silver, and 3Arts’ Ollie Obst. This series is produced by 20th Television.
When you arrive
Netflix hasn’t set a month yet, but both previous seasons launched in the fall, so fans can expect Nobody Wants This Season 3 to arrive sometime in 2026. Perhaps there will be another surprise video (or two) added to mark the occasion.
