It’s been a great week for us to see how Sony’s new PSSR technology is being utilized in games on the PS5 Pro, but the most interesting part is how Hello Games is using the technology in No Man’s Sky. That’s how I used it.
As confirmed by the team, the game will now be able to run at 4K/60FPS, and if you have an 8K display you can also run the game at 8K/30FPS. As far as I know, this will be the second game to take advantage of 8K on PS5 (the first being F1 2024).
That’s not the only improvement. These updates also make their way to PlayStation VR2, including improved lighting, ultra-high-quality reflections, and high-quality ambient occlusion across the board.
