Nintendo has finally given us a deep dive into the next world to join Nintendo World Japan. It’s none other than Donkey Kong. It finally opened at Universal Japan on December 11th, and will begin opening in other locations next year.
I recently went to Nintendo World (in Los Angeles) and the world of Donkey Kong is incredibly detailed and looks completely different than the world of Super Mario.
Just like in the game, you can summon Rambi by hitting the Konga, and KONG letters can be found and scanned with the new power-up band.
As for food, there’s a new DK Crush Sundae and DK Wild Hot Dog, both with super cute retro art and food available in the Jungle Beat Shake. Of course, you’ll also get to meet Kong himself. Kong looks larger than life.
Funky’s Fly N Buy has tons of Donkey Kong merchandise, and the iconic plane is there in full force just like it is in the game.
Enter the Golden Temple and you’ll find the Mine Cart Madness ride. When it comes to a ride that rivals the Donkey Kong games, this roller coaster is it. We’ve only gotten a quick look at Cranky Kong and Dixie Kong, giving us a glimpse of some of the ride, but it’s clear that the coaster will jump from track to track and be completely dark.
