Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch 2 overnight, and while details were pretty light, it seems to have confirmed one rumor to be true.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers appear to attach magnetically to a small holder (similar to the original Switch) and can be used like a mouse.
This is at the beginning of the trailer, where we see the new larger Joy-Con IR sensors, and then again at 1:10 into the reveal trailer, where the Joy-Cons click into the holder and slide into place. The trailer shows that it can almost certainly be used this way, similar to the Lenovo Legion Go, which did the same thing.

If this is the case, it should definitely open up some interesting gameplay opportunities for games like Pikmin and Metroid Prime.
We’re sure to learn more about this when Nintendo reveals details about the Nintendo Switch 2 on April 2nd.
