Netflix currently advertises three monthly plans depending on price range.

Standard plan with ads – AU$7.99 per month
In November 2022, the streaming giant announced its Standard plan with ads. This will cost viewers AU$6.99 per month for two screens and HD streaming. Before being discontinued, Netflix had a basic plan that cost users AU$10.99 per month for one (or two) screens and no ad breaks. The price was then increased in June 2024, now costing users AU$7.99 per month.

How to choose the right plan for your needs

For most streaming services, including Netflix, plan pricing typically revolves around two key factors: number of screens and streaming resolution. Obviously, this includes other factors as well, such as catalog access and other non-streaming-related perks, but for the most part, the plan is based on the former.
Netflix’s ad-supported Standard and Standard products both allow you to stream 1080p HD content on two screens simultaneously. Both also let you download your favorite shows and movies to two devices for offline access.
The premium plan allows users to stream on up to four different screens simultaneously and offers 4K and HDR content. When it comes to downloadable content, users on this plan can access content offline on up to six devices.
In terms of quality, Netflix claims that both the Ad-supported Standard and Standard plans have access to good video and sound playback, while the Premium plan has access to spatial audio and better visuals while watching. Masu.

As mentioned above, Netflix’s ad-supported Standard, Standard and Premium services have experienced price increases over the years. Initially, the basic plan was priced at AU$8.99, but increased to AU$10.99 before being discontinued in October 2023 and in favor of the ad-supported plan.
The Standard plan has fluctuated over the years, with a starting price of AU$10.99. The price has increased by AU$6.99 during this time and now costs AU$16.99 per month. In June 2024, the plan increased again, totaling a whopping AU$18.99p/m.
