Previously announced after the cancellation of Last of Us Online, Neil Druckmann appeared on the podcast, with a second unannounced project under active development at Naughty Dog, with Druckmann taking on “more producer roles.” The next release of Naughty Dog is set to become Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet, but it is still unknown when the game will appear.
Naughty Dog is currently celebrating the success of our last TV adaptation in the second season, developing two major games in development for a long time, with the original The Last of Us Game having the last US Part II and our final game in development adjacent to the galaxy, along with Uncharted 4. At the time of US Onling’s final cancellation, the studio issued a statement that supporting post-launch content would have a serious impact on future single-player games development.
“Brand New” might rule out the possibility of our final part 3, assuming that it refers to new IPs like intergalaxies: a heretical prophet, but as a stubborn tlou fan, I refuse to read too much Lang.
In this fresh interview with Press X, Druckmann shared details about the production of an unreleased game he is working on alongside the intergalaxy. As transcribed by the VGC, he said “there are some directors on intergalaxy.”
“So there are times when I’m in charge when I’m away, I’m surprised when I come back and enjoy the specific choices they’ve made.
Promotion to Head of Naughty Dog’s Studio Head and Creative, Neil Druckmann appears to be playing a more sensual role now, providing creative input across multiple projects simultaneously.
“And then there’s another game I’m working on with Naughty Dog, where I’m in the role of producer. I’m in the mentoring, I see this other team, give feedback, and become the executive of the room.”
“I enjoy all of these roles, and the fact that I jump from one to the next makes my job feel very exciting and always fresh. I’m never bored.”
We know what this second unpublished project is, but we may have to wait until intergalaxy materializes to learn more.
