Crunchyroll, the ultimate home for anime from around the world, today acquired select theatrical rights to Australia, New Zealand, EMEA, and Latin America for the highly anticipated animated superhero film My Hero Academia: You’re Next, produced by Bones. It was announced that. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Release International will bring this epic new adventure to theaters in the following regions starting this October:

The long-awaited release of the latest theatrical version of the hugely popular Weekly Shonen Jump series, which has sold over 100 million copies worldwide. This all-new original story is set just before the final battle between heroes and villains. While society is in ruins due to all-out war, a mysterious giant fortress suddenly appears. And in front of Deku and his friends is a man who resembles the former “symbol of peace”…

Continuing from the previous three works, the latest work will feature original author Kohei Horikoshi as the general supervisor and character designer, and a never-before-seen story will be developed. A fascinating movie version that surpasses Plus Ultra is now on the screen!

Official movie synopsis:

“It’s your turn next!”

The words spoken by All Might, the symbol of peace, after defeating All For One, the symbol of evil. All Might may no longer be the No. 1 hero in a society where most of the population has super-powered personalities, but Deku and his classmates from the hero course at UA High School have the same will and ideals as a hero. I am determined to take over.

It was in the spring of Deku’s second year at UA that a full-scale war between heroes and villains broke out. Deku faced off against the overwhelmingly powerful Kokujumura, the dead man, and the two clashed violently, causing both the hero and the villain to suffer great damage. Afterwards, the battle was temporarily halted due to Shigaraki’s withdrawal, but the time for the next confrontation is rapidly approaching.

In Japan, which has been devastated by total war, a mysterious man suddenly appears. He calls himself a new symbol to replace All Might. “It’s my turn next!” I declare. However, its true identity was Dark Mite! Although he looks similar to All Might, Dark Mite’s ideals could not be more different. He releases his individuality for his own desires, builds a huge fortress, and begins absorbing the population one by one. Among the group accompanying Dark Mite is Anna, a young woman with an unknown personality who is targeted by a stoic figure dressed as a butler. Although this person named Julio calls her “Miss Anna,” it seems that he is aiming for her life. What is their relationship with Dark Mite?

Will Deku, Bakugo, Todoroki, and the rest of UA High School 1-A be able to stop the new symbol Dark Mite and his desires and protect the world? They must confront the Golini Family, an unidentified criminal organization located in .

“It’s our turn next!”

Released exclusively in Australian cinemas on October 10, 2024
