Netflix
“The Lincoln Lawyer” is officially entering its fourth season. Netflix announced the news at its Next on Netflix event, confirming that Mickey Haller, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, will indeed be returning.
The next season will consist of 10 episodes and will be based on Michael Connelly’s sixth book in the series, The Law of Innocence. Production is scheduled to start in February.
Along with Garcia-Rulfo, Becky Newton (Rorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy) and Angus Sampson (Cisco) return, with Neve Campbell (Maggie McPherson) set to play for the full season. Deadline reports that Campbell will appear in every episode of the upcoming season, in keeping with the original story, in which Maggie plays a key role.
Reflecting on the climax of Season 3, the show’s co-executive producer and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey told Netflix site Tudum in October 2023: But clearly the only thing Mickey is thinking is, “What the heck? ‘ That’s all. ”
Season 3 ending with consequences
Season 3 ended with a finale that brought twists and turns and heartbreak in equal measure. Mickey secured the release of Julien La Cosse, who was wrongly accused of murdering Gloria Dayton. But the cost was high, with notable losses including Mickey’s driver Eddie Rojas and Drug Enforcement Administration agent James De Marco. The courtroom drama culminates in Neil Bishop’s confession of corruption and subsequent suicide, a scene that leaves both the characters and the audience stunned.
However, just when the situation seemed resolved, the story took a turn. At the last moment, Mickey was pulled over while driving his Lincoln, and his body was discovered in the trunk. Sam Scales was a familiar figure from previous cases. At this moment, viewers began buzzing with questions about what the embattled lawyer would do next.
What lies ahead?
Season 4’s plot remains shrouded in mystery, but one thing’s for sure: Mickey’s troubles only get worse. When a criminal investigation threatens to change his life forever, he faces pressures that will test his skills and test his closest relationships. As readers of The Law of Innocence will know, the next chapter will explore the theme of ambiguity between justice and morality, continuing to navigate the fuzzy boundaries of a city where clear answers are rarely found. Probably.
