Prime Video officially immerses deep in the universe of beliefs. A new live-action series entitled Delphi, presented at an Amazon pre-presentation in New York City, has been ordered. This celebrates the boxing franchise’s first TV extension, starting with Rocky, and finding a new life with Creed.
Return to Delphi
It is set at Delphi Boxing Academy, the renowned gym trained by Apollo Creed. The series follows a new generation of fighters passing through the same sweaty floor that shaped the legend. Jim, run by Tony “Little Duke” Evers, the son of Creed’s original trainer, was the central location of Creed Film.
Michael B. Jordan, who starred as Adonis Creed in all three Creed Films and directed Creed III, will return as an executive producer under his outlier society banner. Speaking on stage at an Amazon presentation, Jordan said:
“A series that brings us back to where it all started. What I like about this story is that the Rocky and Creed franchise is faithful to everything. It’s about hard work, determination, fighting for something bigger than us. It’s about what we were born, what we created. Time.”
The showrunner duties are left to Marco Ramirez (Dardevil, Defender, Ramachina), who will serve as executive producer alongside Liz Raposo of Jordan and Outrier Society. Irwin Winkler, David Winkler and Charles Winkler of Winkler Films are also executive producers, with longtime stewards from Rocky and Creed brands.
Vernon Sanders, director of television at Amazon MGM Studios, spoke about what the project represents.
“Expanding the fascinating universe of creeds for a global Prime Video audience is a dream come true. Showrunner Marco Ramirez and executive producer Michael B. Jordan have created something exceptional for both longtime fans of both the Creed franchise and the newcomer.”
There are no dates, but big plans
Premier dates have not been announced yet, and cast details are wrapped. Upon arrival, Delphi will be available in over 240 countries and Prime Video territory.
The series is part of Amazon’s broader strategy to leverage MGM’s IP following the studio’s $8.5 billion acquisition. Alongside Delphi, the studio has Greenlight franchise extensions such as Elle (legally blonde prequel), Barbershop, Carrie and Tomb Raider series.
With three films, the Creed franchise has won over $660 million worldwide. The latest film, Creed III, has achieved the highest growth not only in its Jordanian directorial debut, but also in the entire Rocky/Creed Saga, attracting $275 million worldwide, achieving the largest domestic opening in sports film history.
Delphi is here, so please look forward to it…
