Long rumored, Meta officially lifted the lid on Meta Quest 3S this morning. Great deal starting at AU$499.99 with a copy of Batman: Arkham Shadows.
The Meta Quest 3S has the same processor as the Meta Quest 3, which means it will be able to play all upcoming games like Batman Arkham Shadow and the recently released Assassin’s Creed Nexus.
The difference with the Meta Quest 3 is that it’s larger, the color pass-through doesn’t have the same depth technology (although it’s still said to be great), and the lens doesn’t have as high resolution, but the experience seems to be in good condition. It also includes a new controller, so it’s pretty similar.
Another new feature is a new action button that makes activating passthrough easier than double-tapping the headset as before.
It was also announced that both the Quest 3 and Quest 3S will have a new app store that will accept 2S and spatial apps for mixed reality capabilities.
META QUEST 3S Australian price and release date
The good news is that the 128GB version is available in Australia for AU$499, and it also comes with Batman: Arkham Shadow for free. There’s also a 256GB version for AU$669.
It launches in Australia on October 15th and is currently available for pre-order here.
Interestingly, the Meta Quest 3 is currently only available in the 512GB version, priced at AU$1,049, so there’s a big difference in price.
