Matchbox Pictures COO Matt Vitins will take over as managing director of Northern Pictures next month and replace Peter Anderson, who has resigned after seven years at the helm.
Bitins began for the past decade as a Business Affairs Manager at Matchbox and worked as a Director of Business and Law before moving to the COO role of Matchbox Pictures and Tony Ayres Pictures at the end of 2018. There, he crosses scripts, scripts, and child content, including Netflix, Peacock, Amazon, Stan, ABC, and CBBC, ABC, ABC, Abc, Abc, Ansevers announcement and aa abc, aa abc, aaa abc, aaa abc, aaa abc, aaa abc, served for cbbc, and the upcoming Netflix series The Survivors.
He will take the reins at Northern Pictures after the company’s global and domestic recognition has risen, including Anderson’s tenure, including Hardball International Emmy and five U.S. Primetime Emmy Awards.
The Northern Pictures team was also awarded the Australian Production Business of the Year Screen Producer in 2022 and the Human Rights Media & Creative Industries Award in 2023, and was listed in Realscreen’s Global 100 Producers in 2022.
Alderson said he would stay with the company with part-time advisory capabilities, but that was an “extraordinary journey.”
“I’m extremely proud of the team and everything we’ve accomplished together,” he said.
“When Matt takes the helm, we know that the company is at the best possible move at the next stage of growth.”
Vitans said he was honored to step into the role.

Vitins will assume the role of Managing Director and Executive Producer, effective April 28th.
