This leg began with the team arriving in the Namib Desert, where they were faced with a detour, a choice between two grueling challenges. The team had to either climb giant sand dunes on foot or drive 12 kilometers through difficult terrain.
After completing this mission, they headed to Pelican Point, a peninsula known for its large seal population. Here, teams were required to kayak to four buoys and memorize facts about marine life.
Chloe and Emily initially manage to maintain a strong lead. However, a crucial mistake occurred when departing from Pelican Point. While gathering her belongings, Emily accidentally snatches Chloe’s waist bag and leaves her with her own. They didn’t realize their mistake until they were already on their way to the next location. According to race rules, teams cannot complete a leg without all their belongings, forcing them to retrace their steps and losing valuable time.
For the next stage of the leg, the team traveled to Mondesa to learn how to make otsidze, a traditional himba paste made from fat and ocher. The team then received a shopping list written in Damara Nama, the local language. They had to work with locals to translate the list and gather the necessary items before heading to the pit stop.
Unfortunately, the time lost due to the lost bag left Chloe and Emily far behind, and they were the last team eliminated from the race.
Despite the disappointment, both players remained positive about their contribution to raising awareness for charity. Chloe shared the personal motivation behind their participation.
“There are two amazing women in my life who have overcome breast cancer: my mother-in-law and my nonna. When I think about the journey we have taken in our football careers, statistics show that every locker One or two people in the room will get or experience breast cancer.”

Reflecting on their experience, Emily acknowledged the intensity of the race and the pressure she felt to succeed.
“I found the fear of failing to be the most difficult and the fear of coming first each race day to be the strongest. Failure was not an option for me. Win at all costs. I wanted to…
It was one of the most difficult problems we had to deal with in terms of competitiveness.
“No matter how competitive you are and no matter how strongly you want to win, sometimes things don’t go your way,” she said.
Chloe added her perspective, noting that their mindset changed as the race progressed.
“We were very competitive and went into this race wanting to be the first two women to win The Amazing Race Australia, but the great thing was we got distracted halfway through. …”
And I felt very humbled in South Africa. “For a moment, we didn’t care about what was going on in the race and just enjoyed the beautiful moment,” she recalled.
Emily echoed these sentiments and emphasized the importance of the cause.
“Although we didn’t win for charity, I think the overall message and goal was to raise more awareness.
It was sad that we didn’t get that money for charity, but we hope we did it justice by at least raising more awareness. ”
