Announced overnight by Grammy and Bafta-nominated Summerfall Studios, Maris is extremely important in terms of the tone and genre of the team’s first game, The Lost God: Role-Playing Musical.
Maris is known as the “Hellish Logelite Deck Builder” and is set to release a 1.0 version for PC in 2025, along with a Kickstarter that was not released at the time of posting.
This is an interesting approach, as most of the titles funded by Kickstarter are often several years since they were released when they were backed, but it seems important that Summerfall Studios get the game to the player as soon as possible.
“We hope to work directly with you to reach 1.0 and get it within six months of the start of the campaign. We need assistance, support and feedback to achieve that goal,” reads the studio’s official statement.
“There are few studios that release a second game. The second project is often a project that can provide studio stability and longevity.”
Like the Strange God, Maris is written by David Guider and places you in the role of a priest-turned exorcist in sweeping out the streets of the crazy corrupt city that torments it. It sounds clean metal, and it is said to push the boundaries of Logelite’s storytelling.
“Summerfall Studios is built around finding ways to tell innovative stories, big and small, and Malys is no exception,” said Liam Esler, Managing Director of Summerfall Studios. “With an immersive and focused on strategic play, Maris is a unique experience within this genre.”
Maris can be found on Kickstarter ahead of the official kickoff of the campaign with the game set that will be released on PC later this year.
