Google now lets you choose your top news sources, so your search results will include more hits from the most trusted publications.
The update, called “Preferred Sources,” lets you personalize your Google search by selecting IF and other favorite news organizations.
When you add IF as a preferred source, you’re more likely to see our reports in Google’s Top Stories carousel, helping you quickly find trusted screening industry-specific information.
Why “IF”?
IF has been reporting on the screen sector for almost 30 years, focusing on the business and structural factors shaping Australia’s industry.
We are an independent and trusted source of film business intelligence, known for our unique reporting, deep industry background, and access to filmmakers, producers, distributors, broadcasters, exhibitors, and policymakers.
As searches increasingly prioritize results based on AI summaries, nominating an IF helps ensure our original journalism appears alongside them.
How to select IF as the preferred source
The easiest way to add IF as a preferred source is to click on this link and check the box next to IF Magazine, as shown in the image below.
You can also add IFs after searching by clicking the icon to the right of the “Top Stories” heading in the search results, as shown in the image below. Then type “IF” in the search box and check the box, like in the example above.
