Apple has announced the new M4 MacBook Air, and there are a number of major reasons why it’s exciting. The first was starting with a new M4 processor from just 1,699 AUD for 13 inches (formerly $1,799 AUD), starting with a new M4 processor from 2,099 AUD for 15 inches (formerly $2,199) and doubled memory (16GB) to 2,099 AUD.
There are still four colors, with the new Sky Blue colour being replaced by midnight, starlight and space grey along silver, and apparently two 13-inch and 15-inch sizes.
As far as M4 is concerned, you can play the latest games like Civilization VII and Assassin’s Creed Shadows, 23 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air, and you can expect to get up to 18 hours of battery life thanks to the new chip. The new MacBook Air is clearly the same as Apple Intelligence.
For other improvements, there is a 12MP center stage compatible webcam. This is a major improvement over the previous Center Stage, allowing two external 6K displays to be connected to the screen. This is also a major improvement.
The screen, form factor, port etc. Everything else is the same, but this is just a major improvement for one of my favorite laptops.
