In his surprising NHL preseason debut, 19-year-old Arizona Coyotes genius Logan Cooley adored hockey fans with his unforgettable solo performance against the Los Angeles Kings. Cooley’s incredible moment took place in Australia and soon became a story of the world of hockey.

The young sense showed extraordinary stick handling skills when he piloted the board, leaving behind an inverse spin on the avoided defender. What followed was pure magic.

Logan Cooley’s rise to NHL stardom began with a selection as the third pick in the 2022 NHL draft, an important opportunity for Pittsburgh. He achieved the distinction of being the most drafted player born in Steel City, a testament to his extraordinary talent.

Cooley’s Hockey Journey took his first step at the tender age of five when he participated in Sydney Crosby’s Little Penguins Laden Play Program in the 2008-09 season. He competed in various Pittsburgh area teams, and years of dedication followed.

His career trajectory skyrocketed in 2020 when he joined the renowned USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP), based in Plymouth, Michigan.

During the 2021-22 season, Cooley emerged as a hockey genius, accumulating 75 points (27 goals, 48 ​​assists) in 51 games for 18 NTDP under teams. His incredible average of 1.47 points per game ranked him at the top, and he showed off his abilities further with 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists) in 15 matches against the NCAA competition.

Internationally, Cooley’s brilliance was bright as he played an integral role in the US runner-up at the 2022 IIHF Under 18 World Championship. He scored the tournament’s top forward, earning 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in just six games.

With the transition to college hockey, Logan Cooley embarked on an NCAA career at the University of Minnesota from 2022-23. In his stunning debut campaign with Golden Gophers, Cooley tallied an impressive 60 points (22 goals, 38 assists) in 39 games, establishing himself as a standout player at the college level.
