There are still three episodes left until Season 3 of Legends of Vox Machina comes to an end, but fans can also celebrate with Grogu over a pint of ale. Because Prime Video has officially announced the popular Critical Role/Meta Pigeon Studios animated series. And the titmouse will be back for a fourth season! (Can I ask, “What do you want to do with this?”)
“The incredible team at Critical Role and Titmouse continues to deliver a captivating season of Legends of Vox Machina, and we’re excited to see more in the future,” said Amazon MGM Studios Animation. Director Melissa Wolf said. “Prime Video viewers around the world have embraced this series from the beginning, and our fans remain as passionate about the characters and story as we are.”
The series, based on Critical Role’s first live-streaming tabletop role-playing game, was originally funded on Kickstarter and quickly broke records, raising over $1 million. Prime Video acquired the project in 2019 and commissioned a groundbreaking 10-episode first season, which premiered in 2022 to universal acclaim. In 2023, Amazon Studios doubled its investment in the facility and announced the Mighty Nine series, based on the second Critical Role film. campaign of the same name.
“We couldn’t be more excited and grateful to continue the epic and wild adventures of Vex, Vax, Kayleth, Percy, Pike, Grogu, and everyone’s favorite character Scanlan.” added general manager Sam Riegel. “Every season this show levels up, and we already have big plans to level up both our heroes and villains in Season 4.”
Season 3 focused on the continuation of Vox Machina’s battle against Thordak the Cinder King (the late Lance Reddick), an army of dragons known as the “Chroma Conclave” who seek to destroy the world of Exandria. We don’t yet know where Season 4 of the series will go (it’s never too early to theorize!), but considering past hints and world-building over the past three seasons, fans have no idea where the series, known as the “Big Bad,” will go. It’s very likely we’ll see more of the Big Bad. The Whisperer: A powerful god briefly introduced in Season 1 whose worshipers include evil sorcerers and necromancers. In other words, Vox Machina may soon have bigger problems than an angry dragon…
