Laufey captivated an audience of approximately 18,000 in August for a headlining performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The musician took to the stage at the Hollywood Bowl and performed more than 20 songs, 11 by herself and 15 with the Philharmonic. The cameras were rolling all the while. On December 6th, the concert film “Laufay’s a Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl” will be released in select theaters and IMAX.
In the first preview of her new film, Laufey commands the audience as she spins through “From the Start,” the final song of the set and the most popular of her releases to date. This record appears on her second studio album, Bewitched. The 25-year-old artist performed almost the entirety of the record, mixing songs from his debut song “Everything I Know About Love.” She also covered classics by Keeley Smith and Jimmy Van Heusen.
“It has always been a dream of mine to perform my music with the LA Philharmonic,” Laufey said in a statement. “Being able to bring the concert to people far beyond Los Angeles and the Hollywood Bowl means so much to me, especially since I come from so many different parts of the world, and they all belong to my It helps inspire my work and artistic journey.”
Last year, Laufey released a live album and concert video recorded with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra, “A Night at the Symphony.” “I really enjoy playing with an orchestra because I grew up playing classical music and I grew up within the walls of an orchestra,” she told Philippine Billboard earlier this year. “I’ve always had a dream of fusing that symphonic sound with my own music, especially since it’s something that has stood the test of time.”
Furthermore, she added: “This is some of the earliest music we can think of, and it went on to be used in film scores, and remains an important part of music through the ages. I think the experience of going is a little less accessible now, and I feel like it’s getting further and further away from the audience’s understanding, especially for Gen Z.”

“Laufay’s a Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl” was directed by Sam Wrench, who recently directed the concert film that captured Taylor Swift’s Ella tour. “Filming Laufey’s debut concert at the Hollywood Bowl was a dream. It is cinematically sublime with a scale and intimacy that is evident in Laufey’s music,” said Lenzi. “We can’t wait for you to experience this on the big screen.”
Tickets will go on sale from October 30th (Wednesday).
