Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for Kpopped, a new eight-part series that involves Western pop icons and Kpop stars joining forces in a fast-paced high-gross song battle and then moving directly from it. Megan The You Stallion and Psy lead the charges as hosts, executive producers and general Chaos conductors, and are set to unfold in front of live Seoul crowds. All episodes drop in August.

Please read the trailer above and read more about it.

Pop hits, reimagining (sometimes rough)

In each episode, one Western artist teams up with the K-Pop Act to recreate the familiar hit. With each “K-Popped” performance, the live audience votes for the winner, and the K-Pop group closes the night with their own set.

The list of artists is frankly a bit surreal. It’s a good way. In the West: Megan Teior, Patty Bellere, J. Balvin, Spice Girls Mel B, Emma Bunton, Kylie Minogue, TLC, Boys II Men, Vanilla Ice, Kesha, Eve, and more. Matching steps in a step is a K-Pop favorite such as Itzy, Ateez, Kep1er, Stayc, and Blackswan.

Unexpected pairings and tracks include:

Megan Theorion and Billley will be remixing “Savage” vanilla ice and kep 1er to “Ice Ice Baby” J Balvin and Attees on “Minge” TLC and Stick, with “Waterfall” Boys II men and Black Swan closing in “Motown Philly” and “End of the Road.”

Other tracks to get a K-Pop treatment include “Wannabe”, “Lady Marmalade”, “Let Me Blow Ya Mind”, and “Can’t Can’t’tou’t?” The trailer teases a blend of smooth stage productions, eyebrow-raising collaborations, and a rethinked version of hits you probably wouldn’t expect to see on the same show.

Behind the show

Servant and search party actor Soojeong Son will host the series. This is an executive produced by Megan The Stallion, Psy, Lionel Richie and Miky Lee along with the stacked production teams of CJ Enm and Eureka Productions.

release date

Kpopped premiered worldwide on Apple TV+ on Friday, August 29th, with all eight episodes available for Binge from day one.
