The end is creeping up on Delhi. HBO Max has released the official trailer for It: Welcome to Derry season 1 finale, episode 8, “Winter Fire.” With Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) closing in, it looks like a foggy showdown awaits. Watch the trailer above.
Pennywise tightens the rope
Episode 7 saw the Black Spot’s inferno continue in ruins, and the scars are clear in new footage. It starts with Dick Halloran (Chris Chalk) and spirals further after the Black Spot massacre, with Pennywise unraveling his trauma. Exhausted and rattled, he tells Leroy, “I can’t take it anymore.”
The trailer combines gruesome footage. Pennywise’s singing voice, a thick fog rolling across Derry like a creeping infection, a poster of a missing young William Hanlon, the mayhem that ensues within the school as students desperately try to pry open the door, and flashes of several characters confronting the clown in what appears to be a final, desperate showdown. “Goodbye, losers!” Pennywise screams. Will we lose another favorite before the credits roll?
Before we finish, let’s take a quick look back.
The finale trailer falls in the shadow of episode 7, which delivered the show’s most devastating chapter to date. The Black Spot blaze resulted in multiple deaths, including young Rich Santos, who sacrificed himself to save Marge Truman in one of the season’s most harrowing moments.
Meanwhile, Ingrid Karsh’s arc collides with the truth about Pennywise, and General Francis Shaw reveals intentions far darker than military curiosity, ones that now threaten the world beyond Derry.
It all comes down to Episode 8, where Pennywise wants to feed on the Vikings of Terror one more time before going into hibernation for the next 27 years. The season finale of It: Welcome to Derry arrives next week.
