Sega has revealed that a sequel to 2014’s Alien: Isolation is in development at Creative Assembly, the developer of the original.
This announcement was made to coincide with the 10th anniversary of Alien: Isolation’s release. Alien: Isolation was originally released on consoles and PC, and was ported to mobile devices a few years ago. Al Hope, who is returning to direct after directing the first film, said the sequel is still in “early development.”
“Today, on behalf of the team, I am pleased to confirm that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development.
“We look forward to sharing further details with you as soon as they are ready,” Hope said in an official statement.
The original game takes place 15 years after the events of Alien, at an interesting time in the series’ canon, and puts players in the shoes of Ellen’s daughter, Amanda Ripley, as she embarks on a terrifying mission to uncover the truth about her mother’s disappearance.
