Searchlight Pictures has released the official trailer for Is This Sing On?, director Bradley Cooper’s latest film, a poignant and intimate comedy-drama starring Will Arnett and Laura Dern. Early reviews have been positive, and the film currently sits at 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Watch the trailer above and read more below.
Will Arnett and Laura Dern overcome divorce, identity…and stand-up comedy?
The film centers on Alex (Arnett), a man whose marriage to Tess (Dern) has reached a breaking point and is quietly falling apart. With divorce looming, Alex pursues a surprising new path that might be in his control: a fresh start in New York’s stand-up comedy scene.
The trailer shows the two facing years of unresolved tension. “You knew I was suffering, and you left me alone,” Tess says. Alex retorts, “You left me alone? You checked me out!”
Other moments see Alex trying to clarify his side during the relationship. “I wasn’t happy with my marriage. I wasn’t happy with our marriage.”
Third film directed by Bradley Cooper
Is This On? This is Cooper’s third time in front of the camera, following A Star Is Born and The Maestro, and his first time directing a film he co-wrote with Arnett and Mark Chappell (whose credits include Arnett’s Netflix series Flake). The story is loosely inspired by the life of British comedian John Bishop, and the trailer hints at its balance of humor and raw emotion.
Cooper also stars in an ensemble cast that includes Andra Day, Amy Sedaris, Sean Hayes, Christine Ebersole, Ciarán Hinds, and Scott Eisnogle. If early evaluations are to go by, Arnette and Dern are delivering perhaps the best performances of their careers.
Is This On? will be released in select US cinemas on December 19th and in Australian cinemas on January 22nd, 2026.
