Marvel has released the first official trailer for Iron Heart, a six-episode Disney+ series led by Dominic Thorne as young inventor Lili Williams. Look up.
Set after the 2022 Black Panther: Wakanda Forever event, director Ryan Coogler returns to his Chicago homeland and follows Lili, beginning to refine his Ironman-style suit. Despite her technological brilliance, Lili finds herself stuck between rising expectations, the seduction of opportunities for the high-tech industry, and an increase in supernatural threats in the form of Parker Robbins, also known as Hood (Anthony Ramos, Hamilton, Heights).
In a statement, Coogler said: “Iron Heart is a great character in publication. In 2016, Brian Michael Bendis created a character who would succeed the Iron Man legacy. In the comic book, Lili Williams and Tony Stark had a relationship. Iron Heart, and other writers like Eve Ewing, picked up from there and brought Lili Williams to Chicago.”
Along with Thorn and Ramos, the cast includes Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Legan Aliya, Manny Montana, Matthew Ermum and Ange White. Chinaka Hodge, who has written for series such as Snowpiercer and The Midnight Club, is a creator and headwriter. The episode is directed by Sam Bailey (Dear White, Growthy) and Angela Burns (Atlanta, Booty). Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Zinzi Coogler.
Ironheart premieres Disney+ on June 25th and releases with its three-episode debut.
