‘Invincible’ Season 4 Trailer: Uneasy alliances and new villains as the Viltrumite War looms

Prime Video has released the official trailer for Invincible season 4, giving us a good look at the next chapter of the series as it approaches one of the most anticipated storylines of all time. Watch the trailer above and read what’s revealed ahead of the show’s return.

Road to Viltrumite War

A new trailer positions Season 4 as a clear prelude to the long-teased Viltrumite War, a major departure from the original comic book series co-created by Robert Kirkman and Corey Walker. Following the events of Season 3, the story reveals that Earth is still reeling from repeated invasions. This includes multiverse-spanning chaos caused by another Invincible and a devastating conflict with Conquest. The confrontation brought Mark Grayson and Atom Eve to the brink, but the trailer suggests that these battles were just a prelude to something much worse.

Season 4 introduces new threats, including Viltrumite leader Slug (voiced by Lee Pace), as well as Dinosaur (Matthew Rhys) and Universe (Danai Gurira). Together they herald a great escalation as Mark and his allies prepare to defend Earth from the very Empire that is his descendant.

Uneasy alliances and returning faces

One of the most important teases in the trailer is the return of Omni-Man. After bonding with Mark and his Thraxan son Oliver, Nolan rebels against the Viltrumites and appears with the alien Allen as part of an uneasy alliance. As the United Federation of Planets rallies against the Viltrumite threat, Mark is forced to consider not only the future of the galaxy, but also his complicated relationship with his father.

The footage also confirms the return of familiar characters and the introduction of new players, including a glimpse of Damien Darkblood in a storyline Kirkman wrote specifically for the animated series. It all points to a season shaped by the consequences of past choices as the series builds toward an all-out conflict.

Growing cast and future developments

Invincible continues to be helmed by Steven Yeun, with the return of Sandra Oh and JK Simmons, joined by a heavy ensemble that includes Gillian Jacobs, Seth Rogen, Walton Goggins, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jason Mantzoukas, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, and more.

The new season will see Pace, Reese, and Gurira join the cast, once again expanding the scope of the series. Prime Video has also confirmed that season 5 is already in development, indicating there will be plenty of action for fans to look forward to.

Invincible Season 4 will premiere on Prime Video on March 18, 2026.
