Ruth Langsford has secured a role in the new series of I’m a Celebrity, months after splitting from Eamonn Holmes.
The former This Morning presenter has endured a “tough year” but is looking to shake it off after securing a major role in the ITV reality series. The series has already filmed a number of trials ahead of its broadcast start on Sunday, November 17th.
Langsford will be joining host Joel Dommett, Kemi Rogers and last year’s winner Sam Thompson on ITV2’s spin-off show I’m a Celebrity: Unpacked, where her Loose Women co-star goes into the jungle. He plans to stay in Australia to support those involved.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “It’s been a tough year for Ruth, but she’s given it her all. She’s thrilled to be on the spin-off and to be asked to fly to Australia before Christmas. “I’m working on it,” he said.
“She’s rooting for Jane and can’t wait to have her say on how she’s doing. The production team believes Ruth is a great woman and will add momentum to the new format, so We are especially excited to be hiring.”
Langsford and Holmes, who were both fired from This Morning in 2020, announced in May that they had split after 14 years of marriage, with a spokesperson saying they were “preparing for divorce.” I made it.
The two, both 64 years old, married in 2010 after dating for 13 years, and are said to be “determined to continue to be friends and maintain a friendly relationship.”
Mr Holmes, who currently hosts his own show on GB News, has a new girlfriend, Katie Alexander, and recently said he was “glad to see the end” of 2024.
The host has three children with his first wife Gabrielle, whom he married in 1985. Their relationship ended in 1994. Two years later, she began dating Langsford, but the two kept their romance secret out of respect for Gabriel.

After six years of dating, Holmes and Langsford had a son together and married in June 2010 at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire.
Over the years, the couple appeared on ITV’s quiz show Gift Wrapped (2014), Channel 5’s How the Other Half Lives (2015-17) and diet series Lose a Stone in Four Weeks, which debuted on the channel. They have co-hosted numerous programs including. 4th place in 2019.
They also released Eamonn and Ruth’s 7 Year Itch (2017) and Do The Right Thing with Eamonn and Ruth (2018-19).
