2023 contestant Woody Whitelaw admitted he was surprised by how “realistic” the setting was.
“I thought the jungle would be fenced and the animals going in and out would be controlled,” he told radio co-host Will McMahon.
“But Steve, the head of security, told me that the outside of the campground is actually surrounded by men in camouflage uniforms who are essentially standing there. They say they will let people know if a lion, buffalo or anything else happens. If they invade the campsite, they can effectively scare the animals away.
“You’re in a wild environment, and animals move through it,” he continued.
It is also very real when it comes to food conflicts. However, the production company has medical personnel on standby to support the star.
“They’re very hungry, really hungry. They’re very hungry right now. They haven’t been doing very well in their exams lately,” she said on the British version of the show. The doctor previously told the Mirror:
“If you saw how much rice and beans they could get per person per day, I think you’d be pretty shocked. A little rice is very small, a little bean is very small. .”
