Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum star in this frothy, fun, light-hearted plot about the Apollo 11 moon landing.

How to watch Fly Me to the Moon in Australia

Fly Me to the Moon is currently showing in Australian cinemas.

What is “Fly Me to the Moon”?

As the United States prepares to land a man on the moon (and so do the lunar truthers), a Madison Avenue chick and ruthless advertising agent, Kelly Jones (that’s ScarJo), is hired to sell the project to the public. ) will be hired. Much to the consternation of strict mission director Cole Davis (Tates).

Plus, her shady White House liaison Moe Berkus (Woody Harrelson, who seems to be good at this kind of thing) is trying to keep Armstrong and the boys in case they go down the path of propagandist Gus Grissom. He orders her to stage a fake landing. At the height of the Cold War, this mission is too valuable to waste.

Did I mention this is a romantic comedy? That’s really cute.

Scarlett Johansson is also produced by Kelly Jones. Channing Tatum is Cole Davis. Jim Rash is Lance Vespertine, a capital and eccentric commercial director. Ray Romano is NASA boss Henry Smalls. And Woody Harrelson is Mo Berkus. This work was directed by Greg Berlanti, who is known for his work on “Arrowverse” and “Riverdale,” replacing the departed director Jason Bateman.

What are the critics saying about Fly Me to the Moon?

Well, look, it’s not great, but reviews have been more middling than terrible, and opening weekend box office numbers indicate that audiences could smell the stink from a mile away. The $19 million worldwide box office gross for a movie that Apple paid $100 million for is not a calculation that will please the bean counter. Still, if you’re a fan of romantic comedies in general, the space race, or both, you might find something of value here.
