The drama “Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number” never seems to end. It’s been almost a decade since it was released worldwide (excluding Australia), but it’s still causing problems for publishers.
The game was available on PlayStation Plus Extra a few months ago and was also available for purchase as part of the Hotline Miami collection, but it’s now been removed and those who paid for the game have apparently Complaints are coming from somewhere. In Australia you will receive a refund and will not be able to re-download the game.
In an email sent to customers, PlayStation confirmed that the game had not been properly rated by the Australian Classification Board and was therefore removed from sale (and libraries) in Australia.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the game has been accidentally released on Australian digital storefronts, with the same thing happening on Nintendo Switch in 2019, but it now appears to have disappeared from that platform as well.
Depending on whether the game was purchased or obtained through PlayStation Plus, PlayStation has emailed you one of the following messages:
“We have recognized that the product Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number has not received an appropriate rating from the Australian Classification Board and have therefore taken steps to refund customers who purchased the game.
